Genser Energy Investments LLC, a prominent integrated energy company, has successfully secured a 456 million euros term and revolving credit facilities package. This significant financing will accelerate the company's next phase of growth across West Africa.
The funding package was arranged by First Rand Bank Limited, Absa Bank Limited, and the Standard Bank of South Africa Limited. It provides crucial working capital to complete ongoing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects. The financing also strengthens Genser's balance sheet and offers financial flexibility for strategic priorities and continued expansion.
This financial injection follows Genser Energy Ghana’s landmark US$428 million corporate refinancing and Genser Energy d’Ivoire SA’s EUR 200 million equipment loan facility in 2025. These deals show the company's consistent ability to attract support from leading financial institutions. Genser's growth strategy focuses on expanding its integrated gas-to-power platform across the region. This new financing will help Genser continue its investment in Ghana and advance its entry into Côte d'Ivoire and other key West African markets. The company plans to commission its Gas Conditioning Plant (GCP) and the Takoradi Natural Gas Liquids Export Terminal (TNET) later this year, further enhancing its operational capabilities.
Baafour Asiamah-Adjei, CEO of Genser Energy, stated, "This financing reflects the confidence our financial partners continue to place in that vision." He added that Genser's focus remains on investing in large-scale infrastructure. This infrastructure delivers reliable energy, supports industry, and creates long-term value for the countries and communities it serves. The CEO's comments underscore the company's commitment to its long-term vision for energy development in the region. This strategic approach has consistently attracted significant financial backing.
The successful financing follows Genser's strategic shareholder transition announced in July 2026. This marks another important step as the company enters its next growth phase. Genser Energy, founded in 2006, is a privately owned firm. It focuses on supporting industrial growth and energy security across West Africa. The company currently boasts an installed generation capacity exceeding 334 megawatts. It also owns and operates a 436-kilometre privately developed natural gas pipeline network within Ghana. This extensive infrastructure allows Genser to supply power to industrial clients and utilities in Ghana. It also enables cross-border power exports throughout the West African region. The company's continued expansion is vital for regional energy stability and economic development. This latest financial backing ensures Genser can maintain its trajectory of growth and impact.
