Fidelity Bank Ghana has announced a significant increase in its profitability for the year ending December 31, 2025. The bank reported a profit before tax of GHS 1.46 billion. This represents a 21% rise compared to the GHS 1.21 billion earned in 2024.
This strong performance was driven by disciplined strategy execution and resilient operations. Fidelity Bank also saw its operating income grow by 14%, reaching GHS 2.68 billion in 2025 from GHS 2.34 billion the year before. This growth came from both interest earned on loans and fees from other services.
The bank's balance sheet expanded considerably. Total assets increased by 17% to GHS 25.98 billion by the end of 2025. Customer deposits and other liabilities grew by 13% to GHS 21.68 billion. This suggests Fidelity Bank is gaining more customers and trust in both business and individual banking sectors.
Lending activities showed exceptional growth. Gross loans and advances surged by 51% to GHS 4.74 billion in 2025, up from GHS 3.14 billion in 2024. This indicates the bank is actively supporting businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and retail customers across various economic sectors.
Julian Opuni, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, stated that disciplined execution and investments in innovation fueled this growth. He highlighted the bank's focus on technology, automation, analytics, and customer-friendly digital platforms. These digital initiatives are key to delivering smooth and reliable banking.
The bank also maintained a strong loan portfolio, with its Non-Performing Loan (NPL) ratio improving to 7.09%. This is notably lower than the industry average of 18.9%. James Reynolds Baiden, Board Chairman, attributed this to the bank's strict risk management and solid financial foundations.
Fidelity Bank's strategic direction and performance were recognized with several awards in 2025. These include Euromoney's Best Private Bank in Ghana and Ghana's Best Bank for ESG. The bank also declared a dividend of GHS 11.20 per share, subject to Bank of Ghana approval.
Beyond financial results, Fidelity Bank continued its commitment to sustainability in 2025. It invested over GHS 170 million in financing for green businesses and climate-smart projects. The bank also ran initiatives like the Waste-to-Cash program, recycling 14.7 tonnes of paper. Its social responsibility projects positively impacted over 40,000 people across 10 regions.
The bank's outlook remains confident. Mr. Baiden expressed commitment to ongoing innovation, digital transformation, and customer-focused growth. Fidelity Bank sees itself as a partner in Ghana's economic development, balancing profit with social and environmental responsibility.
