GCB Bank crowned five top customers with all-expenses-paid trips to the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This marks the culmination of the bank's "Pa To Pa Promo." The promotion celebrated disciplined saving habits. Five months of nationwide campaigning ended on Friday, May 8, 2026. The grand finale event took place at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
The "Pa To Pa Promo" started in December 2025. Its primary goal was to encourage customers to save money consistently. These savings were intended for significant life achievements. These included weddings or purchasing a dream car. Vacations or supporting the national football team abroad were also goals. These aspirations were made more attainable by the promotion. The campaign ran through April 2026.
This initiative by GCB Bank aligns with a broader economic goal in Ghana. Encouraging domestic savings is crucial for financial stability. It provides banks with more capital for lending. This can support businesses and economic growth. High savings rates can also reduce reliance on external financing. This is especially important when global economic conditions are uncertain. GCB Bank is one of Ghana's largest financial institutions. It plays a key role in mobilizing domestic resources. The bank's efforts contribute to strengthening the local financial sector.
GCB Bank Managing Director, Farihan Alhassan, praised customer involvement. He called their participation "nothing short of incredible." Mr. Alhassan stated the bank's mission was simple. They wanted to encourage savings for important life events. He noted the enthusiastic response across the country. "Across the country, customers embraced the challenge to save consistently," he said. The National Lotteries Authority supervised a transparent lucky draw. This draw selected one additional winner. Four other customers qualified based on their accumulated savings points.
The five customers will receive fully paid trips. This includes visa processing, flight tickets, accommodation, and transport. This initiative demonstrates GCB's commitment to customer loyalty. It shows they value long-term banking relationships. The bank plans to launch similar campaigns in the future. This aims to further reward and engage customers. It highlights the potential for financial institutions to drive positive financial behaviours.
