Hollard Insurance has launched its new 'We Cover You' brand campaign, aiming to increase public understanding of insurance and strengthen awareness of the company's services in Ghana. The campaign, unveiled at the Achimota Retail Centre on Friday, July 24, represents a significant strategic investment by the company to clarify its purpose and offerings to the Ghanaian public.

This initiative comes after internal research revealed a notable gap in public perception. While many Ghanaians recognized the Hollard name, they often associated it with unrelated businesses, such as selling fabric or ice cream, rather than insurance. This prompted Hollard to invest in a campaign that clearly communicates its core mission: helping Ghanaians build secure futures by protecting what matters most to them.

Ghana's insurance sector has historically faced challenges with low penetration rates, meaning a small percentage of the population holds insurance policies. Campaigns like Hollard's are crucial for demystifying insurance products and making them more accessible. This effort aligns with broader national goals to deepen financial inclusion and resilience among citizens, contributing to a more stable economic environment.

Daniel Boi Addo, Managing Director of Hollard Insurance, described the campaign as a major milestone. He stated, "We are not simply unveiling a marketing campaign. We are starting a new chapter in the Hollard brand story." Mr. Addo emphasized that building a trusted brand goes beyond offering quality products, making this the company's biggest strategic brand investment. He added that exceptional businesses create brands people are happy to associate with, trust, and ultimately do business with.

The campaign seeks to simplify conversations around insurance by moving away from technical language. It focuses instead on how insurance supports individuals, families, and businesses in their everyday lives. This approach aims to make insurance less about complex terms like 'indemnity' and 'contribution' and more about protecting life, livelihood, family, assets, and businesses. The goal is to provide peace of mind, allowing individuals to chase their dreams with confidence.

Mr. Addo further explained that the campaign targets the uninsured and underserved populations in Ghana. By adopting simple language, Hollard aims to make insurance more accessible and understandable for everyone. He expressed confidence that the campaign will not only improve understanding but also encourage more Ghanaians to purchase insurance products. This could significantly boost the country's insurance penetration rate, which remains lower compared to more developed economies.

Aviel Benni Derry, Acting Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Hollard Insurance, noted that the campaign's creative direction stemmed from extensive research. The company listened to customers, partners, and the public to understand their perceptions of the Hollard brand. Ms. Derry highlighted that the campaign uses cloth as a symbol of protection, reflecting the core purpose of insurance. She explained, "The cloth is not the story. It is the symbol. The story is protection. The story is the people. And the story is Hollard."

This strategic communication effort by Hollard Insurance could set a new standard for how financial services are marketed in Ghana. By focusing on clarity, accessibility, and relatable human stories, the campaign aims to move people from assumption to understanding, and from curiosity to confidence. Success in this endeavor could lead to increased public trust in insurance providers and a healthier, more resilient financial landscape for Ghanaians.
