OmniBSIC Bank has launched Ghana's first embedded nature finance solution. The bank partnered with Indelible, a company focused on nature fintech infrastructure. This new system allows money from everyday payments to directly support conservation and biodiversity projects. It is a first for both Ghana and African banking.
Through this partnership, OmniBSIC Bank's corporate clients can now easily send small amounts from customer payments to verified environmental projects across Africa. This connects businesses, consumers, and local communities via a single financial system. The goal is to support Ghana's sustainability goals and international development targets. These targets include Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land).
This initiative fits into Ghana's growing focus on sustainable economic practices. The nation is increasingly looking for ways to balance financial growth with environmental protection. Prior efforts have included encouraging green investments and promoting corporate social responsibility. OmniBSIC Bank's strong financial performance, including a 104% profit increase to GHS 641 million in 2025, provides a solid base for such innovative ventures. The bank's total assets grew to GHS 21.58 billion in the same year.
Daniel Asiedu, the Managing Director of OmniBSIC Bank, stated that banking must evolve. He believes banks should be catalysts for sustainable growth. "This partnership with Indelible marks a defining moment for the financial ecosystem," Asiedu said. He added that the system allows clients to embed sustainability into their daily transactions. "We are committed to leading innovation that aligns profitability with purpose," he noted.
Rajesh Savji Parmar, CEO of Indelible, praised OmniBSIC Bank's vision. He described the bank as one of Africa's most compelling and fastest-growing. "Pay2Nature gives OmniBSIC and its corporate clients a verifiable, cryptographically secured connection to the biodiversity assets their businesses depend on," Parmar explained. The technology uses blockchain to ensure all fund flows and impact claims are transparent and verifiable. This is achieved even in areas with limited internet access.
This partnership's impact is expected to extend beyond Ghana. Future plans aim to connect the Ghanaian diaspora with nature projects back home. It also seeks to broaden access to nature-based finance as it becomes a recognized global asset class. The system leverages Indelible's Pay2Nature platform, which uses APIs and a SaaS dashboard. This allows OmniBSIC Bank corporate clients to access data aligned with TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) standards. They can also conduct assessments and produce required reports.
OmniBSIC Bank, recognized as Best Corporate Bank Ghana 2026, is positioned to lead this new financial frontier. The bank's leadership, including Managing Director Daniel Asiedu, who was named Banking CEO of the Year Ghana 2026, shows strong ambition. This move signifies a strategic effort to integrate environmental stewardship into core banking operations, enhancing Ghana's role in global sustainable finance.
