MCL Ghana has unveiled the “Grand Panache”, a 22-floor luxury residential development in Accra. Construction for this new project is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2026. This development seeks to attract investments from both local buyers and Ghanaians living abroad.

The luxury housing project was officially launched at The Palms by Eagles in Accra. MCL Ghana also announced Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson as the Grand Panache brand ambassador. The project aims to redefine premium living in Accra through modern architecture, smart home technology, and high-end finishes. Early investors can receive discounts of 10 to 15 per cent before prices rise.

Ghana’s real estate sector is currently one of Africa’s fastest-growing investment areas. This new project adds to a trend of developers targeting high-net-worth individuals and diaspora investors. Data indicates rising demand for premium housing in Accra, driven by economic growth and increasing urbanisation. The Ghanaian government actively promotes diaspora engagement in investment opportunities, especially in real estate.

Richard Donkor, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Panache, called the development a high-end project. Mr Donkor stated the project will be completed within three years. He emphasised its unique design and location, encouraging early investment. Mr Donkor said, “Investors and people looking to buy properties should come on board now because once construction starts, prices will go up.”

The launch of Grand Panache will likely increase competition in Accra's luxury real estate market. This project’s success could encourage more foreign investment, especially from the diaspora. Decision-makers and market observers will monitor its progress and pricing strategies closely. The involvement of a public figure like Michael Blackson could also influence purchasing decisions among prospective buyers. Blackson expressed confidence in the developers, noting his own investigation into potential fraud risks.

Michael Blackson revealed he first discovered the project on social media. His initial interest was in purchasing a unit. This later led to him becoming the brand ambassador. Blackson stated, “What started as an interest in buying a unit ended up with me becoming the brand ambassador for the entire building.” He urged Ghanaians and the African diaspora to invest in the country’s real estate. Blackson described Ghana as a favourable destination for both investment and tourism. He also highlighted plans to expand his activities in Ghana, including producing a Hollywood film and opening a comedy club. This move reflects a wider trend of diaspora professionals investing in Ghana's entertainment and creative industries. The project’s focus on smart home technology aligns with global trends in luxury developments. This could set new standards for future projects in the region. The anticipated completion within three years indicates a swift turnaround for a project of this scale.
