The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has extended its working hours at many of its offices across Ghana. This change means more customers can now access DVLA services for a longer period each day.
Starting immediately, several DVLA offices will operate from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday. This decision aims to address long queues and make it easier for people to get their vehicles registered or renew their driver's licenses. Busy urban areas are expected to see the biggest benefit from this change.
Ghana's economy relies on efficient public services. The DVLA plays a key role in ensuring vehicles are legal and safe for our roads. Improving their service delivery helps businesses and individuals conduct their activities smoothly. Similar efforts to improve public sector efficiency have been a focus for the government in recent years.
The DVLA stated this move is part of its ongoing commitment to better service delivery for all Ghanaians. An announcement was made on Facebook on Thursday, May 14th. The Authority hopes to reduce processing times and offer more convenience to the public.
This expansion of hours is expected to significantly reduce the stress and waiting times for services. Customers in Accra, Kumasi, Tema, Takoradi, and Tamale, among other regional capitals, will benefit. Offices like the DVLA Prestige Centre, Narhman Office, and Weija Office in Accra are included. The Kumasi, Tarkwa, and Tema offices will also operate under the new times. This move by the DVLA could encourage more prompt renewals and registrations, which in turn contributes to smoother economic activity and better road safety management across the country.
