The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of Mawuli School has donated more than 300 mono desks and four 10,000-litre water tanks. This action aims to improve teaching, learning, and student welfare at the school.

The donation targets ongoing issues with classroom furniture and water supply. Two water tanks are designated for the boys’ dormitories, and another two for the girls’. These items are crucial for creating a better learning atmosphere.

This intervention highlights the strain on public school infrastructure in Ghana. Many schools face challenges with basic amenities. The PTA's support is vital given limited government budgets for education. The role of PTAs in supplementing school resources is increasingly important for student development.

Mawufemor Korbla Nornibey, PTA Chairman, stated the donation responded to an appeal from school authorities. He explained that the PTA understands the link between a good learning environment and student success. He also stressed the need for students to care for the donated items.

Patricia Awo Kudjo, Assistant Headmistress for Domestic Affairs, accepted the items. She expressed gratitude for the timely support. She noted the donation would ease pressure on the school. It will also improve conditions for effective teaching and learning.

The impact of such donations extends beyond immediate needs. They signify community engagement in education. They also demonstrate the challenges second-cycle institutions face with essential resources. This donation underscores the ongoing need for sustained investment in educational infrastructure across Ghana.

The PTA has committed to continued collaboration with school management. They aim to address other critical challenges. The students and staff have welcomed the initiative. They see it as a significant boost for academic activities and well-being.
