GNAT’s CreditMall has launched a new program in Kumasi. It will provide teachers with modern technology. This includes laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Teachers can get these devices through flexible payment plans. The initiative is called the Teachers Tech Access Programme or TTAP.

This program aims to help teachers who cannot afford these gadgets upfront. It uses payroll deductions and 'pay-later' arrangements. CreditMall Limited, a subsidiary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), introduced TTAP during its new regional hub launch. Board Chairman Dr Kwaku Ainuson stated the goal is to ease financial burdens. Teachers can acquire essential digital tools for work and personal growth.

The Teachers Tech Access Programme fits into a larger picture. Many Ghanaian teachers face challenges accessing necessary equipment. This is due to limited personal funds. CreditMall’s expansion into Kumasi is strategic. It targets the middle belt of Ghana. This move aims to improve service delivery. It also addresses the need for structured support systems for educators. The Teachers Fund also supports enhancing teacher welfare through accessible financing.

Dr Kwaku Ainuson, Board Chairman of CreditMall Limited, said, “We have started the TTAP, through which we will deliver laptops, mobile phones, and tablets to teachers on credit or pick-and-pay-later terms.” He added that the intervention would help teachers access lifestyle products without extra financial strain. The goal is to provide anything that can improve a teacher’s work.

The new Kumasi office is a significant development. It will also offer electric motorbikes. This is for teachers in difficult-to-reach areas. Over 40% of GNAT members use motorbikes for commuting. Ashanti Regional Chairman Elvis Prince Bainey highlighted this need. The availability of affordable motorbikes addresses a major transport challenge. CreditMall’s expansion signifies a commitment to improving teachers' lives. The initiative also includes a home-building support platform.
