Ukraine Reports 4 Dead in Russian Kyiv Strikes

    At least four people have died. Dozens more have been injured. Children are among the wounded. Russia launched a massive wave of drone and missile strikes. This happened across Ukraine overnight.

    Three of the dead were pulled from rubble. This was in Kyiv. An apartment building was partially destroyed. A rescue operation is underway. The capital city was bombarded. At least 44 people were injured. Two children are among them. Twenty-one people are in hospital. One child is receiving treatment.

    This marks the third day in a row. Ukraine has reported deaths from attacks. Moscow has increased its assault. This happened after a three-day ceasefire ended. The ceasefire expired on Monday. The overnight barrage was significant. Russia launched over 670 drones. It also fired 56 missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this. This is one of the largest attacks. Russia has carried out since 2022. The full-scale invasion started then.

    In Kyiv, rescue teams worked early Thursday. They searched for survivors. People were trapped under rubble. A nine-storey apartment block was hit. Its entrance was destroyed. Police confirmed two men died. They were 21 and 30 years old. A woman was also found dead. Her identity is not yet known. The fourth victim died later. He was at a petrol station. The station was attacked. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko visited the building. He said 18 apartments were ruined. The attack disrupted water supply. Over 1,500 rescuers are working. Almost 600 are in Kyiv. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ihor Klymenko, stated this. Dozens of people were recovered. More than 10 people are missing. Canine units are assisting the search. Teams moved over 20 cubic metres of debris. They evacuated five damaged vehicles.

    Other buildings were also hit. This includes residential homes. A school and a veterinary clinic suffered damage. President Zelensky confirmed this. Russian drones flew over much of Ukraine. Kremenchuk, Bila Tserkva, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Odesa were targeted. Prime Minister Svyrydenko reported this. "Ukraine needs help in strengthening its air defense," she stated. "This is the only way to save our people and our cities." Ukraine's Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, condemned the attack. He called it barbaric. He said it showed aggression and terror. Ukraine's Minister urged US President Donald Trump and China's Xi Jinping to act. He believes they can pressure Russia. "I am certain that the leaders of the United States and China have enough leverage over Moscow to tell Putin to finally end the war," he said.

    These attacks followed a ceasefire. It was brokered by the US. It lasted three days. Both sides reported violations. These were mostly on the frontline. No major aerial attacks occurred then. Russia resumed its strikes on Tuesday. Nine people died that day. Six more died on Wednesday. Ukraine reported 892 drones on Wednesday. President Zelensky stated over 1,560 drones targeted Ukraine since Tuesday night. He described the assault as not the actions of someone ending a war. He urged allies to speak out.
