The Church of Pentecost launched a large medical mission in Abesewa, Ashanti Region. This outreach will provide free healthcare services. It officially began on Thursday, May 14, 2026.

The initiative targets areas where many families struggle to access quality medical and surgical care. It also aims to offer eye care and preventive health services. The program combines expert medical help with free treatment. It seeks to address physical, social, and spiritual needs.

This effort is part of the church's strategic goal to positively impact communities. It mirrors the healing ministry of Jesus Christ. The church mobilizes young professionals globally to offer practical support. This program follows a successful 2025 mission in Kpassa, Oti Region. That mission provided free screenings to over 1,100 people. It also facilitated 61 surgeries and converted 457 individuals to Christianity.

Pastor Benjamin Asare Yeboah, Director of Pentecost Social Services, stated the church runs 13 health facilities in Ghana. Last year, these facilities provided free care to over 249,000 people. This extensive track record demonstrates the church's commitment to social welfare.

The Abesewa outreach will run with a pre-screening phase from June to July 2026. The main event is scheduled from October 2 to October 18, 2026. A team of 125 to 150 professionals will be on the ground. This team includes medical staff, pastors, and volunteers from the U.S. and Ghana. They will perform free surgeries like hernia repairs and thyroidectomies at Pentecost Hospital in Abesewa. Bechem Government Hospital will also assist with overflow cases and specialized surgeries.

Michael Asiama Okyere of IMAGHE World Foundation assured residents of top-tier medical professionals. Patients will receive blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and malaria screenings. They can also access cervical cancer testing and full lab diagnostics. Specialized gynecological services will be available at Bechem Government Hospital. Eye care will include advanced examinations and screenings. Free medication will be dispensed, and referral systems for complex cases will be in place.

The Church of Pentecost's involvement in public health is significant. Their social interventions aim to alleviate burdens on the public healthcare system. This outreach highlights the growing role of religious organizations in delivering essential services, especially in rural and underserved areas. The success of such missions can influence public health policy and community engagement strategies.

The project leverages partnerships with organizations like PENSA International and IMAGHE World Foundation. These collaborations ensure a wide range of medical expertise and resources. The initiative's scale and scope indicate a sustained commitment to improving health outcomes in Ghana. The church views these activities as integral to its mission of holistic community development.
