Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko has completed the first stage of his campaign for the National Chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He thanked constituency executives in the Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, and Western North Regions for their support. The tour’s theme was “The Bridge to Victory: Empowering the Grassroots, Uniting for Victory 2028.” This initiative is part of his effort to prepare the party for the 2028 general election. Mr. Agyarko addressed party executives in zonal meetings. He stated his goal is to rebuild the NPP into a disciplined and effective organization. This he believes will secure a clear victory for Mahamudu Bawumia in 2028. Bawumia is Ghana's former Vice President. Agyarko noted that while the party had a strong presidential candidate in 2024, its internal systems were not robust enough. His leadership will focus on restoring unity and organizational strength within the party. His potential tenure as National Chairman would prioritize four key areas. These include unifying the party through reconciliation processes. He also aims to improve the welfare of party members and executives. Strengthening resource mobilization and distribution is another goal. Upgrading party infrastructure is also a priority. This involves establishing a modern national headquarters. Permanent offices at regional and constituency levels are also planned. Agyarko also promised to support government appointment initiatives. These programs are linked to Dr. Bawumia’s broader political strategy. Senior party figures supported the campaign tour. Joseph Osei Owusu and Henry Quartey were among them. Quartey served as the National Campaign Manager. Several other former government and party officials also participated. A press statement from his spokesperson, Vincent Frimpong Manu, expressed thanks. The campaign team is grateful for the reception from regional and constituency executives. The second phase of their nationwide tour is scheduled to begin soon. This ongoing engagement highlights the NPP's internal preparations for future elections. Such internal party activities often signal shifts in political strategy and resource allocation as parties gear up for national campaigns.
