East Legon Businessman Arrested for Drug-Facilitated Sexual Abuse

    A 36-year-old businessman from East Legon in Accra faces serious charges. He is accused of drug-facilitated sexual abuse. He also allegedly shared intimate images without consent. The Cyber Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested him on May 6, 2026.

    The operation was a joint effort. The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) also participated. Their investigation uncovered a Telegram platform. This platform was known as “VIP Sleep Fetish 2025.” Police say the suspect used a drug. This drug is alprazolam, often called Xanax. He allegedly used it to sedate women. He then sexually abused them. He recorded these acts. He shared them online. This happened without the victims’ permission. He reportedly found victims at nightclubs in 2025.

Empty sachets believed to contain alprazolam and midazolam were found. These are being tested. The electronic devices will undergo forensic analysis.
