Mr. Agyekum issued a statement on Sunday, August 10, 2026, warning against the House descending into "chaos, confusion, and needless political confrontation." He expressed concern that social media commentary is already creating divisions between the Majority and Minority caucuses. Such narratives could undermine public confidence in the institution of Parliament.

The former MP highlighted the particular importance of tolerance and constructive engagement as Parliament prepares to consider non-entrenched provisions of the Constitution.
