Two Remanded Over Alleged Assault of Pragia Rider

The prosecution opposed bail, arguing that a third suspect, Enoch, also known as Awuoye, remains at large. Releasing the accused could interfere with ongoing investigations into the incident. The court, presided over by Mr. Lord Delvin Essandoh, will consider the bail application at a later sitting and has directed the prosecution to file its disclosures.

Police informed the court that the third suspect, Enoch, allegedly assaulted the complainant with a machete. He also reportedly instructed that the incident be recorded on video, which was later circulated on social media. The prosecution stated that efforts are underway to apprehend Enoch, for whom a bench warrant has been issued.
The incident occurred on July 13, 2026, when Bright Agyei was riding his Pragia on the Diaso-Amobaka road. Frimpong and Enoch, traveling in an unregistered Honda Civic saloon car, allegedly blocked his path. Enoch then reportedly assaulted Agyei and, with Frimpong’s assistance, forced him into the vehicle. They drove towards Amobaka, where Enoch allegedly attacked Agyei with a machete, inflicting injuries.
A passing police officer rescued Agyei, while Enoch fled the scene. Agyei subsequently reported the incident to the Diaso Police Station. This led to investigations and the arrest of Frimpong at his hideout in Diaso. A search of Frimpong’s room reportedly uncovered a pump-action gun loaded with six live AAA cartridges. The unregistered Honda Civic saloon car used in the incident has also been retrieved and impounded to aid investigations. The ongoing investigation aims to bring all perpetrators to justice and ensure community safety.
