develoPPP Ventures has reopened applications for Ghanaian start-ups, offering successful ventures €100,000 in non-dilutive capital. This significant funding aims to accelerate their growth and market expansion. The program also provides tailor-made technical assistance and strategic guidance from sector experts.

This initiative targets high-potential, impact-driven start-ups after a one-year pause in applications. The last group of Ghanaian beneficiaries was selected in May 2025. This relaunch will inject crucial capital and expertise into Ghana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program focuses on privately owned, tech-enabled, profit-driven start-ups with clear market traction.

This aligns with wider efforts to boost Ghana's technology and digital economy. The government and private sector are increasingly supporting local innovation. Data from the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) shows a rise in foreign direct investment into tech start-ups over the past three years. Programs like develoPPP Ventures complement these trends by providing direct funding and capacity building. They help bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and scalable business models in Ghana.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) commissions the develoPPP Ventures programme. Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and DEG Impulse gGmbH implement it. GreenTec Capital Partners leads the Ghana rollout in collaboration with Bakerson Limited. This combination ensures deep local expertise with pan-African investment experience. In 2025 alone, develoPPP Ventures deployed over €2.5 million across Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire. This supported 24 high-growth start-ups in various sectors. The matching model effectively doubled this capital to more than €5 million in execution capacity. Ghanaian founders highlight that the program offers significant strategic value beyond funding. Selection provides a strong credibility signal to other investors and partners.

The return of develoPPP Ventures means more opportunities for Ghanaian start-ups to secure vital funding and strategic support. Companies that meet the eligibility criteria should submit their applications by June 30, 2026. This includes being registered in Ghana and having a market-ready product with initial revenues. They must also secure a matching investment of €100,000 from private investors. This signals continued international confidence in Ghana's entrepreneurial potential. Further investment and growth across the tech sector should follow this injection of capital. It also enhances Ghana's position as a hub for innovation in West Africa.
