Graphic Communications Group Limited has formally committed to partnering with the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) to educate Ghanaians and protect them from financial fraud. This collaboration aims to launch a nationwide awareness campaign. The initiative comes as Ghana experiences a significant increase in digital payments and online transactions.
Mr. Franklin Sosu, Director of Marketing and Sales at Graphic Communications Group, affirmed this commitment during a report presentation to the CSA. He highlighted Graphic's long-standing role in fostering national conversations that benefit citizens and the business community. The partnership directly addresses a critical need for increased public awareness regarding cyber threats.
This partnership fits into Ghana's broader economic story of rapid digital transformation. The country's move towards a cashless society, while offering efficiency, also introduces new vulnerabilities. Protecting citizens from financial fraud is crucial for maintaining trust in digital payment systems and ensuring economic stability. The collaboration seeks to mitigate risks associated with this digital shift.
Mr. Sosu stated, "Beyond just talk, we have this platform and the pitch of the platform is that we must provide solutions to some of the problems that we identify." He stressed that cyber security efforts must be consistent, not treated as a one-off campaign. This continuous engagement is vital for effectively combating evolving financial fraud schemes.
The partnership follows a 2026 cyber security discussion organized by Graphic, themed "Shine Your Eyes: Combating Financial Fraud in Ghana Through Collaboration and Innovation." This event revealed significant public knowledge gaps regarding cyber threats. The report presented to the CSA compiles insights and proposed solutions from industry experts who participated in these discussions.
Benjamin Maduro Avornyotse, Acting Director of Communications, International Cooperation and Strategic Partnership at the CSA, received the report. He assured that the CSA's Director General and Deputy Directors General would consider its recommendations. Mr. Avornyotse also called for stronger media partnerships ahead of the upcoming Cyber Security Awareness Month in September.
The CSA intends to work closely with media outlets to address technical issues and solutions highlighted in the report. This includes focusing on emerging trends that require immediate attention from the authority. The CSA will also draw insights from industry players, including the banking sector, to strengthen collaborative efforts against cyber-related challenges.
Particular attention will be given to the experiences of fraud victims to gain deeper insights into how cases can be addressed. The concerns raised by victims will be reflected in the report to strengthen the response to financial fraud. This comprehensive approach aims to build a more resilient digital environment for all Ghanaians.
The sustained effort from both Graphic Communications Group and the CSA is critical for Ghana's digital economy. It will help build public confidence in online transactions and protect individuals' financial well-being. This ongoing collaboration will ensure that citizens are consistently informed and protected against cyber threats.
