The Ghana-Russia Center for Commerce and Relations has signed three important cooperation agreements. These deals aim to make Ghana and Russia work together more closely. The signings happened at the 17th International Economic Forum, Russia–Islamic World: KazanForum 2026. This event took place in Kazan, Russia. The agreements are a big step for Ghana-Russia ties. They will help increase trade and encourage more investment. They will also build stronger working relationships between Ghana and Russia. This is especially true for its region called Tatarstan. The Ghanaian team was led by Mr John Aggrey. He is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana-Russia Center. Madam Ziona Ayorkor Holm, the Head of Business Development and Innovations, also attended. The Center signed agreements with three groups. These were the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency. It also signed with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan. A third agreement was with the African Initiative News Agency. The Center believes the media deal will help show investment chances. It will also raise awareness about Ghana-Russia cooperation across Africa. This will support good talks and business partnerships. Ghana's Ambassador to Russia, Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, was also present. This forum is a chance for Ghana to strengthen its economic and diplomatic connections. Mr Aggrey spoke at two key events. He addressed the Forum of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Countries. He also spoke at the Forum of Young Diplomats. He shared information about Ghana's investment potential. He highlighted chances for businesses to collaborate internationally. A main part of the visit was a meeting. Mr Aggrey met with Mr Rustam Minnikhanov. He is the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan. Government officials and business leaders from many countries were there. They talked about increasing trade. They also discussed industrial cooperation and investment. The role of chambers of commerce in boosting economic growth was also a focus. KazanForum 2026 saw people from 99 countries. This shows growing global interest in the event. Organizers reported a 15 per cent increase in attendees from before. Taliya Minullina, who heads the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, noted the forum's growing importance. The Ghana-Russia Center officials see these agreements as a move towards a more planned partnership. The focus will be on making trade easier. Energy development, investment promotion, and institutional work are key. They hope this will turn good diplomatic feelings into real economic gains. It will create new chances for businesses in both countries.
