Vinpearl Joint Stock Company has officially partnered with three major Indian travel companies: Thomas Cook India, SOTC Travel, and MakeMyTrip. These agreements aim to directly connect with all customer segments in India, positioning Vietnam as a prime travel spot for its 1.47 billion people.

These strategic alliances will open direct channels for Indian travelers. The partnerships will boost travel demand and experiential tourism. They seek to brand Vietnam as a preferred destination for India’s massive population. This initiative comes as India's expanding middle class increasingly seeks international travel experiences.

This move is part of the broader trend of emerging markets seeking new tourism revenues. Ghanaian tourism, for instance, has actively sought to attract visitors from diverse markets. The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture aims to diversify Ghana’s tourism base beyond traditional European and American markets. Such partnerships reflect a global strategy to capitalize on growing economies and their travel spending. Data shows global outbound tourism from Asia, particularly India, is experiencing rapid growth.

Ms. Ngo Thi Huong, CEO of Vinpearl, stated, “India is one of the key markets in Vinpearl’s international expansion strategy.” She added that these partnerships broaden market reach and allow Vinpearl to develop products tailored for specific customer segments. Mr. Anubhav Bansal, Vice President of MakeMyTrip, representing the Indian partners, highlighted Vinpearl’s diverse offerings. He said these offerings align with Indian traveler preferences. Mr. Bansal expects the partnership to significantly boost Indian tourist arrivals to Vietnam.

These collaborations are expected to boost tourist numbers dramatically. Vinpearl saw a 402% increase in Indian guests in 2025 compared to the previous year. The first four months of this year showed a further 335% increase against the same period last year. This rapid growth suggests strong potential for future tourism expansion. Decision-makers and markets will watch for the economic impact of increased tourist arrivals. Tailored travel products, including luxury wedding tourism and multi-generational family holidays, will be crucial for sustained growth. The success of these partnerships could inspire other destinations to target large, growing markets like India.
