The Ghana Horticulture Expo 2026 will run from Thursday, June 11 to Saturday, June 13, at the State House Forecourt in Accra. The event aims to boost agricultural self-reliance through innovation. This third edition will gather stakeholders across the agricultural value chain to discuss agribusiness and food security in Ghana.

The Federation of Associations of Ghanaian Exporters (FAGE) is organising the Expo. It is collaborating with the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) and the Ghana Export-Import Bank (Ghana Exim Bank). The theme is “From Soil to Sovereignty: Building Ghana’s Agricultural Self-Reliance through Innovation.” This theme focuses on driving conversations about sustainable agriculture, innovation, export growth, and investment in the horticultural sector.

Ghana consistently seeks to diversify its economy and enhance local production. This expo aligns with national efforts to reduce reliance on food imports and boost non-traditional exports. The horticultural sector presents a key opportunity for economic growth and job creation. Ghana's agricultural potential and favourable climate conditions remain largely underutilised in this area.

Davies Narh Korboe, President of FAGE, spoke ahead of the event. He emphasised the critical need for Ghana to prioritise agricultural transformation. Mr. Korboe stated, “Ghana possesses the land, the people, the climate, and the potential to feed itself and compete globally.” He added that agricultural self-reliance is a national responsibility, achievable through innovation, partnerships, and strategic investments.

The three-day exhibition will attract farmers, exporters, agribusinesses, researchers, and investors. It will also draw development partners, policymakers, students, and consumers. Participants can expect to see exhibitions of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Greenhouse technologies, irrigation systems, and agricultural technology (agritech) solutions will also be showcased. There will also be packaging innovations, processed products, and export-ready commodities.

Beyond exhibitions, the Expo will feature business-to-business networking sessions. It also offers market linkage opportunities and policy discussions. These activities aim to strengthen Ghana’s agricultural value chain. This will position the country competitively within the global horticultural market. The event is important for creating jobs, ensuring food security, and promoting industrial growth. It also plans to inspire young entrepreneurs. The national push towards agricultural sovereignty and export competitiveness gets a boost from this initiative. The Ghana Horticulture Expo 2026 is a key step to transforming Ghana’s agricultural potential into sustainable prosperity.

Organisers say the 2026 edition builds on the success of prior expos. It aims to create a more impactful platform for promoting Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda. This comes as countries worldwide now prioritise food security, local production, and economic resilience. The Expo provides a strategic platform. It will promote value addition, innovation, market expansion, investment opportunities, and sustainable agricultural development.
