Ghacem Limited has provided 29,730 bags of cement to health and educational facilities in Ghana. This donation comes under its Ghacem Cement Foundation program. The initiative aims to support infrastructure projects in underserved areas.
The donation is part of the foundation's 2025/2026 cycle. Beneficiaries were chosen in both northern and southern parts of the country. These institutions are building essential facilities like classrooms and clinics. Kwasi Kyere spoke on behalf of Ghacem management. He stated the company is committed to national development for all.
The northern sector received 10,400 bags. This area includes regions like Bono and Ashanti. Distribution took place on May 11, 2026. The southern sector received 19,330 bags. This sector covers Greater Accra and Western Regions. Distribution occurred on May 15, 2026. The foundation also committed 1,000 bags to Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. This is for a new Children’s Oncology Unit.
Ghacem Cement Foundation has donated about 800,000 bags since 2002. The total value is around GHS 64 million. This reflects Ghacem's long-term commitment. Ehunuabobrim Prah Agyensaim VI chairs the foundation. He highlighted the importance of the southern sector. Ghacem has manufacturing plants there.
Dr. Frank Huber, Managing Director of Ghacem, stressed education's importance. He believes educated children build Ghana's future. He called the beneficiaries "real heroes of Ghana." Prof. Audrey Gadzekpo, a Council Member, noted the foundation’s work since 2002. She encouraged support for Ghacem products. This support keeps the foundation's work going. Institutions must apply formally for aid. They must meet specific criteria. Applicants needing more cement can reapply.
The foundation will monitor project completion. This ensures the cement is used effectively. The company expects to help many more communities soon.
