The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has officially partnered with Multimedia Group Limited. This collaboration aims to significantly boost student entrepreneurship and nurture business leadership skills. The partnership was announced at a recent meeting between UPSA management and Multimedia Group leaders.
This effort is closely linked to UPSA’s upcoming Ghana Business Leaders Conclave. The conclave is designed to be a key platform. It will focus on drawing investment for young entrepreneurs. It will also encourage important discussions on business leadership and sustainability in Ghana. Professor Mawutor, a leader at UPSA, highlighted the conclave's agenda. Key topics will include succession planning and integrating traditional leadership styles into modern business. This annual event seeks to become a premier program for business figures across the nation.
This initiative fits into a larger picture of Ghana's economic development. The country is focused on building a stronger private sector. UPSA’s role as an academic institution is crucial here. It plans to produce research and literature on business practices. This academic contribution aims to support Ghanaian businesses. Professor Mawutor stressed that many Ghanaian businesses struggle to continue after their founders. He stated, “There should be a point of transition beyond the founders of these businesses.” He believes businesses must survive beyond their founders.
UPSA is actively supporting its students' entrepreneurial ventures. One notable success story involves Level 300 students. They formed a company in their second year. This student-led business recently secured a contract worth over GHS 200,000. They will be producing jerseys for the university’s mini-gathering games. This demonstrates the university’s commitment to job creation. The partnership with Multimedia Group is intended to amplify these student success stories. It will help attract much-needed support for these young businesses.
The Ghana Business Leaders Conclave is scheduled for May 15. It is part of UPSA’s year-long 60th anniversary celebrations. These celebrations run from August 2025 through 2026. The event is expected to host notable figures, including Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Ken Ansah, Chief Operating Officer of Multimedia Group, praised UPSA's commitment to transformation. He pledged Multimedia Group's full support for this initiative.
