The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Prof. Seidu Mahama Alidu, has started building 10 mechanised boreholes. This project aims to fix a big problem with getting clean water. It will help people in communities like Gumbihini, Changli, and Aboabo electoral areas. These areas have struggled with not having enough water for a long time. The project is a step towards ensuring everyone in the constituency has safe drinking water.

This new water project is a promise the MP made during his campaign. He wants to make life better for the people living there. It also continues the work started by the late former MP, Alhaji Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed. The boreholes are especially important for women and children. They often have to walk very far to find water. Providing these boreholes will make their lives much easier and safer.

Ghana faces many challenges with its water supply. Pollution and old equipment often cause shortages. This means many people cannot get clean water easily. This situation can lead to health problems. The efforts in Tamale Central show a local attempt to solve a national issue. Good water access is vital for health and also for economic activities like farming and businesses.

Prof. Alidu stated that the project is very important for the residents. He mentioned that it would ease the daily struggles many face. Community members have welcomed the initiative. They see it as a timely solution to their problems. Access to clean water is a basic need and crucial for healthy living.

The construction of these 10 boreholes may take some time. Residents can expect improved water supply in the coming months. Decision-makers will watch if this project can be a model for other areas. It highlights how local leadership can address essential infrastructure needs. The success of this project could encourage more investment in water resources across the country.

In addition to the water project, Prof. Alidu is also focused on other areas. He recently checked on road projects in Gumbihini and Agric wards. These roads were started by the previous MP and are now being continued. He also organised free extra classes for students taking their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). He gave over 1,800 mathematical sets and transport money. These actions show a commitment to improving the overall well-being of his constituents.
