Minister Appeals for Urgent Repair of Tamale-Bolgatanga Highway

    Upper East Regional Minister Akamugri Donatus Atanga has formally requested the government to expedite repairs on the Tamale–Bolgatanga Highway. The road’s current state poses a significant danger to travellers. This appeal was made in Bolgatanga on May 5, 2026.

    The 163-kilometer stretch has become extremely rough. Potholes have widened into deep gullies. A journey that once took two and a half hours now takes nearly four hours. "The government is a doer," he assured. He also mentioned ongoing efforts for the Bolgatanga–Bawku–Pulmakom road project.
