The Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training Service (GTVETS) has announced a nationwide recruitment exercise. It seeks both teaching and non-teaching staff for the 2026 employment cycle. The process officially started on Friday, May 8, 2026. This followed financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance. The Public Services Commission is collaborating on this hiring.

Available jobs fall into two main groups: teaching and non-teaching roles. For teaching, positions include Senior Tutor/Facilitator and Tutor. Senior Tutor/Facilitator candidates need a Master’s degree. This degree must be in Technology, Engineering, Education, Social Sciences, or a related area. They also need a professional education qualification. A minimum of one year’s post-Bachelor’s work experience is required. Tutor applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree. This should be in Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A professional qualification in Education is also necessary.

The non-teaching category covers administration, catering, security, transport, and facility support. Roles include Administrative Managers, Assistant Managers, Senior Assistants, Matrons, and Catering Officers. Security Guards, Drivers, and Cleaners are also needed. Qualification needs vary widely. Entry-level jobs may require BECE or WASSCE certificates. Senior roles can demand Master’s degrees. GTVETS stated applicants must have relevant academic and professional qualifications. They must also be willing to work anywhere in Ghana. Completing National Service is usually required. Passing a competitive interview is also part of the process.

The initiative represents a significant boost to public sector employment. It underscores the government's commitment to expanding technical and vocational training infrastructure. In the 2024 budget, the government allocated GHS 500 million to improve TVET facilities. This recruitment drive aligns with that goal. It aims to strengthen the quality of instruction and operational capacity. Such efforts are crucial for developing a skilled workforce. This is vital for Ghana's economic development and industrialization plans. The current unemployment rate for youth aged 15-35 was 19.1% in the last quarter of 2025. Filling these positions could offer opportunities to many.

Interested applicants can get and submit forms at the Ghana TVET Service Headquarters. This is located at 44 Boundary Road, East Legon, Accra. Online applications are also accepted. The approved recruitment portal is at https://tvets.organiseteam.com. The application deadline is Friday, May 22, 2026. GTVETS warned the public about individuals demanding money for jobs. They stressed the process is transparent, fair, and merit-based. This clarifies the official recruitment channels and payment procedures.
