Ghanaian businesses and creatives can tap into a significant trade opportunity. The Africa Town Pavilion at the 2026 Commonwealth Games is expected to attract over 2.5 million visitors. This Pan-African hub offers a platform for economic engagement. The Games are scheduled for July 23 to August 2, 2026.

Gideon Amponsa Okai, In-Country Director of INGO – Third Sector Resource UK, urged businesses to participate. The pavilion will feature national spaces, including Ghana House. This initiative aims to position Ghanaian brands globally. It will showcase products and attract investors.

This event goes beyond sports. It promises substantial economic activity through business, culture, and trade. The Commonwealth Games will bring many people together. This presents enormous cultural and business prospects. The Africa Town Pavilion marks a historic step. It unifies 21 African Commonwealth countries.

Opportunities exist in agribusiness, manufacturing, and tourism. Fashion and the creative economy can also benefit. Ghanaian exports like Kente, fugu, and coffee are highlighted. Locally made fabrics and Ghanaian cuisine are also featured. "This is the time that Ghana will have to package our food and sell it to the rest of the world," Mr Okai stated.

Ghana's improving economy can attract foreign investors. This aligns with Ghana's export expansion goals. It supports the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The initiative also promotes job creation. This links to the government's 24-hour economy policy.

The British High Commission in Ghana is partnering. They will help facilitate meetings. UK businesses can connect with Ghanaian enterprises. INGO – Third Sector Resource UK is the sole accredited agency. Businesses should confirm their participation with them.

Organisers believe the pavilion is a launchpad. Ghanaian brands can gain global recognition. "For the first time, African countries will be stronger and more powerful under one roof," Mr Okai added. The potential economic impact is substantial for Ghana.
