The Macallan, a famous Scottish whisky maker, has introduced its updated bottle designs in Ghana. The redesigned Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections were launched in Accra on Monday, 21 April 2026. This event, called the "Timeless Collection" launch, shows The Macallan is investing more in Ghana.

This launch happened at Gallery 1957 in the Kempinski Hotel Accra. About 40 guests attended this event. They were socialites, important people in the industry, and business partners. The event's theme was "Timeless Elegance." It is a major step for The Macallan in West Africa. It also shows Ghana is becoming a key market for high-end products.

The new designs are mainly about how the bottles look. The actual whisky inside the bottles has not changed. The Macallan wants to be clear about this point. The bottles now have a shape inspired by The Macallan's distillery roof in Scotland. This connects the packaging to where the whisky is made. A triangle on the label now points to Spain's Sherry Triangle. This is where the oak barrels used for ageing the whisky come from. These special barrels give The Macallan its unique taste.

New back labels show graphics explaining where the wood for the casks came from. This helps customers know if their whisky was aged in American oak, European oak, or both. This makes the range easier to understand for drinkers. The new packaging is also better for the environment. Less unnecessary plastic and foil are used. The glass bottles are lighter and can be recycled. Each bottle has strong measures to prevent fakes. It also includes a QR code for tracing the product's journey.

This launch comes as Ghana's market for premium and top-tier spirits is growing. More people in Ghana are buying these kinds of drinks. A growing middle class is a big reason for this. The hospitality industry is also improving. Consumers want well-known, high-quality brands from around the world. For The Macallan, bringing the Timeless Collection to Accra is part of its plan for West and Central Africa. The brand previously launched in Lagos, Nigeria, on 17 April 2026.

David Carson, a designer who has worked with The Macallan for a long time, led the new design. His work connects The Macallan's 200-year history with what today's premium customers expect. Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager for West and Central Africa at Edrington, which owns The Macallan, spoke about the launch. He said the new bottles show the brand's commitment to changing thoughtfully. He added that the brand stays true to its craftsmanship and heritage. As the new bottles appear in shops and bars in Accra, they invite people to experience The Macallan. The whisky is the same, but its story is now told more clearly.
